Default Re: No Upgrade Option. Just Install

I had a temp password issued, logged into the cart admin and changed it. Then I went to /store_new/zc_install/index.php and inserted the user name and newly created password. It then gave me the "Admin Password required to proceed with upgrade" message again. Is it not recognizing the new password?

No I'm using the password from the current cart admin site (distinctivedog.com/store). So, I navigated to the distinctivedog.com/store_new and did the password reset to the same password I used for the current site. I filled in this info at the zc_install page and got this response:
1253 COLLATION 'latin1_general_ci' is not valid for CHARACTER SET 'utf8'
    in:
[CREATE TABLE zen_counter_history_clean as SELECT * FROM zen_counter_history WHERE 1 GROUP BY startdate COLLATE latin1_general_ci;]

latin1_general_ci is the standard default collation
You did not elude to the fact that you had changed this to UTF8??

Didn't know I did or even what that means. How do I change it back?

I just went through all the tables and individually changed them over to latin1_general_ci. I'm still getting the message: 1253 COLLATION 'latin1_general_ci' is not valid for CHARACTER SET 'utf8'
    in:
[CREATE TABLE zen_counter_history_clean as SELECT * FROM zen_counter_history WHERE 1 GROUP BY startdate COLLATE latin1_general_ci;]

I notice that the charset is labeled as: MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8).

GoDaddy was not much help in telling me how to update this setting except to say that I need to run a query. Can you help?

I changed all of the collations and it still lists utf8 for charset.
    MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
    MySQL connection collation: latin1_general_ci
