Checkout Slowwww

I am using Zencart 1.3.8a and it has not ever been upgraded after 2 years.

Just recently it has started to do two things and I don't know if they are related or not.

1. The checkout is slow. Once the customer selects the product and you go to checkout it takes over 1 minute to go to the next screen.

2. I have started to get duplicate orders. I process payment through paypal and the customer is only charged once but they are sent 2 confirmations with 2 sequential confirmation numbers with times that are identical.

Any help would be appreciated.

What shipping modules are you using?

NOTE: you need to add to your stylesheet.css the classes:

.hiddenField {
	display: none;
}
.visibleField {
	display: inline;
}

Does anything change if you switch to the Classic Template?

Where is this located?

Also I am using the USPS and UPS shipping modules.

Your stylesheet is in:
/includes/templates/free_red/css/stylesheet_new.css

Did you try the Classic Template to see if your checkout works?

Im having the same problem as well. Only started recently and it does not happen every time. Sometimes it takes 2 seconds to parse the checkout page, and sometimes 2 minutes.

Ajeh, how can i check if the site was hacked?

crwalejr, have you had any luck finding the solution? Im also using UPS and USPS for shipping.

at this point im 99% sure that the problem is with USPS API. When I disable it, checkout page loads within 2 seconds every time (I tried about 30 times). When I enable it, it may take 2 seconds or 45 (about half the time). Although, it seemed to have come back to norm 2 seconds in the last hour or so.

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing these issues. crwalejr?

Sometimes that can happen with shipping like UPS and USPS where some servers are affected and others are not ...

I was experiencing that on Wednesday for a few hours with intermittent results on several servers ...
