help question HELP -- In the middle of upgrading and don't understand..

HELP! I am in the middle of upgrading our zen cart site from the 1.3.8a to the 1.3.9f. I think I have everything done and I am ready to upgrade the database and I have the following questions.

When I go to Database Upgrade, I see TWO databases check marked. the Upgrade DB from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9 AND Upgrade DB from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2. The first is correct but I am sure we were never on the older version. Should I uncheck the older version or should I leave it checked?

Also, before sending this message... I unchecked the older version and clicked on update database. I received the following error...

1253 COLLATION 'latin1_general_ci' is not valid for CHARACTER SET 'utf8'
    in:
[CREATE TABLE counter_history_clean as SELECT * FROM counter_history WHERE 1 GROUP BY startdate COLLATE latin1_general_ci;]

I found where I needed to change this which I have done... does that mean I should run the update again or did it actually do something?

    Thank you for your help.

    Kim

You can ignore the suggestion for 1.1.1-to-1.1.2. That's a red herring.

As for the other issue, yes, if you haven't already, you'll want to simply rerun the 138-to-139 upgrade step again. You'll see several messages saying that "things were skipped because they're already done", which can be ignored.
