term net-30 payment method?

A quick question for you guys, If I am wanting to setup something so that a customer is able to login, pick out the items they want and check out but not be charged. Similar to how companies do a net-30 type thing so they have so many days before we bill them.

I saw the options to make it so EVERYTHING has no price, or that you can see the items only. But is it possible to setup a customer somehow so they don't have to pay, and we charge them offline. But generally everyone else would still purchase through the site.

Do you want to do that for all your customers, or just some?

If all, its pretty easy. You can modify the check/money order module text to say something like "Net 30 Days", and have appropriate text with instructions on the payment confirmation page.

If you want to do that for only a few customers, someone more knowledgeable may you able to help you better.

If you only want to do this for some customers, try the Invoice contribution in the free software downloads. Just change the language file to say "Net 30". It will only be displayed for customers in the "invoice" group (see readme for details).

Thanks for the replies. Yes this would be something for just a few customers.

swguy, where does the invoice group exist, is it part of the group pricing? Because I am using the Dual Price whole sale module, so I am not using the group price. Would this work still ?

Add the group invoice using admin->customers->group pricing with a 0% discount. Then put customers in this group through admin->customers->customers, and they will see the invoice method of payment on checkout.

However, it says the latest one supports v1.3.7 and I'm using 1.3.9.
Do you know if this will still work, or cause any other problems? Also how intensive code wise is this change? If I needed to roll back is it a big problem?
