Linkpoint API stopped working

Hi,

I saw a post about the Linkpoint API and an error:

" We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are presently unable to contact the Credit Card company for authorization. Please contact the Store Owner for payment alternatives."


Does anyone know if this might be caused by the port or CURL problem in another post? I'm using "Hosting Direct" for my site, and they recently made some changes that caused me to NOT be able to access my CPANEL, so I'm thinking they've changed something that broke my CC processing, too.


I found out today that my cards have been down since around 9/12, I think...

The error message is telling you that your server is unable to contact the Linkpoint server to do transaction processing. That could be a CURL problem or a port problem or a hosting problem or a hosting firewall problem. Or it could be a problem at Linkpoint ... but if it's at Linkpoint there'd be thousands of people complaining, not just you.

My hosting company thinks it might be their firewall and the port 1129 issue. Do you know if port 1129 needs to be allowed INTO the server or OUT of the server or BOTH? They are asking this.

Your server makes outbound requests and waits for a response back during the same connection.
