Show sold out image if stock is 0, but still allow adding to cart?

Admin>Configuration>Stock>Show Sold Out Image in place of add to cart

This does more than what it says. What I would like it to do is ONLY replace the image, not take away the ability to add to cart and purchase.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Look under Configuration > Stock and make sure the first three options are all set to true....if they are, then it may help to have a link to your site...

Thanks for the reply. They are all set true. And it does allow items to be added to cart, but only if "Show Sold Out Image in place of Add to Cart=0"

My goal is to have it allowed to be added to cart, but instead of the "add to cart" button, show a "sold out image" (that I have modified) to say "Ships in 2-4 Days"

Maybe I am going about this the wrong way, if you have a better idea I'd appreciate the input.

I haven't made a whole lot of progress but I have found this. It is pretty close to my goal, but not quite.

Im currently able to add 0 stock items to cart and purchase. I just want to replace "0 items in stock" to "ships in 2-3 days", but still show stock on items that actually are in stock. Any advice?
