[Duplicate] Zencart 1.3.8 showing error DEPRECATED: set_magic_quotes_runtime()

I know php version 5.3x does not support this function set_magic_quotes_runtime(). My site running zencart 1.3.8 with lots of modification, What should I do now ? I contact with my webhost they will not install php 5.2 for me. upgrading my cart seems to be impossible. Please help.

Actually 5.3 does support that function

What 5.3 does is issue a warning notice if the function is used.

More recent versions of Zen Cart will only use that function if you are actually using php 5.3

However in your case, I would be looking to see why the error reporting on your server is set to show Notices/Warnings

Further, there is a PHP 5.3 patch for Zen Cart v1.3.8, as well as several other very important security patches. If you don't apply those patches then you're leaving your site open to hacking.

So, your best course of action is:
a) install the PHP 5.3 patch for v1.3.8a
b) also install all posted security patches for v1.3.8a
(all patches are listed in the forum News & Announcements area)
c) plan your upgrade to the next version ... soon. There are hundreds of important bugfixes and security improvements in v1.3.9
