show original and sale price in checkout???

I have looked through the forums and couldn't find an answer to this.
I just turned on a sale and I would love it if the "view cart" and checkout showed the original price and the sale price, like it does at the product listing view.

Is this and easy thing....did I just miss somethin' simple here?

That's not a built-in feature. It would require you to write custom code for each of those pages and add code to those page templates to output the additional information, as well as styling it.
