    Default Checkout process Blank Page Can't confirm order

    Version 1.39f
    I am just setting up my site
    No addons
    I use Simple Zen Template
    www.veggieretail.com
    Using Godaddy's Shared Window Hosting Deluxe Plan
    I checked the cache folder and could not find new error messages
    I searched everywhere for answer and asked my hosting company if there's something they can do. They said no.
    A customer could never confirm an order in the last page of the checkout. An email will send out to the customer about the order but the confirmation page won't show.
    I have no where to go, can someone please help?

    I am having the same problem. Has anyone found a specific solution? I am on version 1.3.8a. I see the address bar change from the PayPal address to my website address and then the page goes blank. No key strokes will bring it back.

    I tried the configure.php suggestion, but it hindered the ability to move forward with a transaction. I turned it off and then while the test transaction was at PayPal, I turned it back on. Got a ton of 'Notice' lines, turned off the configure.php, and the screen went blank again.

    Please help.

    How am I turning off the configure.php? The suggestion by DrByte was to put a special configure.php in the includes/local folder. I turned it off by renaming the file, since it is not critical to the normal function of the site.

    In addition, I wanted to show the error messages I get in the log files:

    IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not establish fsockopen.

    and

    Unable to find the socket transport "http" - did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?

    I don't know where to find this.

    Who fixes the server configuration issue - me or Godaddy? Is there something I can look at to tell me what to do?

    I tried everything on the Q&A link posted here. I found no error message in the Cache folder.

    Then, I reinstall Zen-Cart in a new directory of my hosting. I kept all of the original settings and keep all setting as default except the followings.

    I did the minimum steps required to test the checkout process. I added only one item in the product catalog. I set up the email option under Admin by entering the email login, password and SMTP server info under Admin Email Option. I use SMTPauth. Then, I tried to register and place an order and checkout. I got the same 'blank page' problem. The confirmation email came to my email address but I do not see a "order confirmation page". I got the same problem when I register as a new user. I don't get the final confirmation page either. I checked the Cache folder and there's no error message there.

    Again, the only option Godaddy offered is to use their dedicated hosting which is very costly. Any other suggestions? Should I consider another hosting?

    You will find that most people who have started with your host have had problems and as soon as they went with a proper host all their problems disappeared.
    The choice is yours.
