    Default Error 403 - Forbidden

    Hello,

I'm a French who is working on a British firm, and they asked me to create their new e-shop.

I've copied all the zen-cart Zip files into a 1and1 server.
I've putted all the files in a "catalog" folder, and applied all the 777 permissions as required in the tutorial. I've modified to 2

I've tried to let the "catalog" folder as the home directory folder for the domain, but without any success... I've an "Error 403" when I launch the domain name.

I've tried to put the "zc_install" as the home directory folder, without any succes...

And finally, if I directly write the index.php address from the the zc_install folder, or directly from the root folder, that's a 404 Error which appear...

I don't know exactly what happened, but can you help me ?
I'm sorry to do not have the knowledge to fix that alone...

I've putted all the files in a "catalog" folder,
Make sure to move ALL files & folders that you might have moved back to the /catalog folder

    then try to access with

    domain.tld/catalog/zc_install/

To be more clear, I've not moved the files into this folder, but directly uploaded the files in the Zip into the catalog folder...

I just tried to change the 1and1 properties to place the "zc_install" folder as the home folder directory for the domain name, but without success.

Everything I try directly with the domain name or in writing the direct address of any index.php, I've a 403 or 404 error, whereas I've correctly configured the permissions...

Have not worked with them but recall that they have issues
Search this forum for them to see some of the issues and possible solutions
I know that I have seen ZenCarts operating on their servers

Did you upload the zip file?

Or did you unzip them first and then upload them?

I'm not very strong in programming, but I've unziped all the files before uploading.

I'll search how to proceed with the 1and1 servers...
If I've known these types of problems, I would have chosen another host...

The company has registered and paid the domain and the host, I don't think they'll be happy to register another one...

So, I've founded where was my problem

The 1and1 package I've chosen first doesn't accept the pho language, but only the html...
It's the same for few 1and1 package.

Moreover, I've discover in the same time that in this package, no SQL database could be created...

After an account upgrade, the installation has correctly been completed, and I'm configuring the online shop.

    Cheers !

    Bastien.
