Auto email to selected companies after checkout?

Hi folks,

I am a newbie to ZenCart and I am currently learning how to customize it to suit my products.

A brief introduction to what I want to do is I am going to provide a list of companies as the 'products' that customer can purchase. The list of companies are choices that customers can ask quotations for services provided by the companies.

I would like to find an addon which can send emails to selected companies automatically after customer checkout. Does anyone know any addon for zencart or any system that can make that possible? Or is there any alternatives to reach my objectives?

The simple way to make this happen will require that your have all products for each supplier in their own category

One would then have to custom code the email action...

Can be accomplished but to involved for a forum environment

If your php is good you can try your hand at coding this and if not there is a commercial help wanted area on this forum

Not that I am aware of but there are a lot of them and I might not have seen it

I mean trying to offer a few suggestions in this forum to get what you seek.
This will require that some extensive code be written & tested

I have received suggestions about customizing the email template to make auto sending email available. But i don't know how to that. Is there any available tutorials for that? Besides, I tried to review the email templates of ZenCart, I found that it is meant for email sending out to customers instead of the selected companies.

I think this required some PHP coding as it requires sending and receiving data from database. Am I correct that this requires technical knowledges of PHP? If I do not want to use PHP coding, is there other ways to do this?

Unfortunately NO

An order needs the p product info and this is stored in the DB and php/mysql is required to extract this data
