    help question Upgrading database.

    Hello.

I am not very technical so please bear with me.

I installed ZC using fantastico recently. I did a few changes (text and colours etc) but no add-ons. However, the version was out of date (1.3.8 I think).

I have today uploaded 1.3.9h over the top of the original files. All OK now I think, except I get this message on the top of the home page:

Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Admin->Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.

    Details there tell me:

    Zen Cart 1.3.9h
    Database Patch Level: 1.3.8
    v1.3.8 [2010-10-20 05:52:33] (Fresh Installation)
    v1.3.8 [2010-10-20 05:52:33] (Fresh Installation)

Please can someone tell me how to patch/update my database? I have searched through this forum and FAQ but I have been unable to find anything.

    Thanks!

The distribution includes a folder "zc_install"

Restore this folder and run /zc_install and select upgrade Database only

Thanks, but all I get when I go to www.mywebsite/zc_install is the ZC logo, the words ':: Zen Cart™ Setup - Welcome' and the text below:

Welcome to the setup program for Zen Cart™ v1.3.9h release. This setup program will guide you through the necessary steps to ensure Zen Cart™ is properly installed on your system.
but nothing to click on What do I do next please?

When viewed via FTP. all the files seem to be there.

OK, I deleted all the zc_install files, and put them back again. YES! I have now buttons to press.

However, it kept telling my that two files were not found:

Your /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php file contains invalid path information and/or invalid database-connection information.
If you recently edited your configure.php files for any reason, or maybe moved your site to a different folder or different server, then you'll need to review and update all your settings to the correct values for your server.

My admin section is now showing this same message. I had renamed my admin file to something else, is this the problem?

    Help!

    Thanks.

    This is driving me nuts.

I believe I have updated the DB as the warning has now gone from the shop home page.

I have deleted the zc_install files.

I have put both /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php back to read only.

I have renamed the admin files back to 'admin', but I still cannot get into the admin section (I still get the same warning message as above).

    Help!

What does your admin configure.php file say is the admin folder?

If the frontend loads, compare like settings in it to your admin configure.php
As it is stating that there are invalid settings

Thanks, but I do not understand what to do.

The shop main page loads, but says along the top 'NOTICE: The website is currently Down For Maintenance to the public'

I cannot access the admin section due to the message I post yesterday. I do not know what to do, or how to do it

    All help gratefully received! Please!
