Yes up until the new database part cause that'll cost extra money. When I asked about that here, I was told only needed to worry about that if didn't want my other store down. Since we never launched it I don't care about downtime.

So if you currently have products entered - - make a proper DB backup first

You can then drop all the DB tables and run the new version install and then follow the tutorial
