Product type help!

I have successfully added a new product type, finally

I copied all the music/music_genre files to do so, shows in admin under extras, catalog/product type, can assign new product to that product type, all custom field show up on product type template_info page. That all works fine.

My problem is within the sideboxes. They show up, but the dropdown section has this .. instead of the name added in the extras section of admin. clicking it takes you to the correct page.

Any Ideas?

Is the following css something you added yourself?

In admin -> configuration -> Layout Settings there is a way to shorten bestsellers product names. Not sure if that is relevant, but you could Try changing these settings about to see if it extends text.

truncate the names is not relevant, some are 2 letter names such as 3D

Is this a sidebox you created, or have you modified one of the others?

In the developers toolkit, do a search for

option value="1"

and see what that throws up. It may highlight the php which could be causing the fullstops.

Hopefully someone else has a better answer in the meantime.

I simply copied the music_genres sidebox

When entering option value="1" in developers tool kit it only returned in this file

tpl_modules_listing_display_order.php

music_genres sidebox is controlled in admin -> Configuration -> Maximum Values.

Change some of the settings in that to see if it helps.

my extra sideboxes can also be controlled via admin -> Configuration -> Maximum Values

I changed the values but nothing

even changes from a Dropdown List to a scrollbox if the value is setabove 1. I just cannot figure this one out. Sad part is it took me 3 days to get the rest working properly.

ZEN CART IS GREAT BUT WHEN IT COMES TO ADDING PRODUCT TYPES WE NEED TO MAKE IT EASIER!
