Default "INSTALL" button not showing when trying to new payment modules

I'm in the process of installing my first Zen Cart, version 1.3.9H. I have customised the template only, ie installed the "darkness" template and turned off all the boxes.

I have installed (via ftp) the necessary files for Paymate and Direct Bank transfer payment options and they are visible in the payment modules list in my admin. The problem is, no 'INSTALL" buttons are visible to the right as they should be according to all the tutorials I have read.

Can anyone suggest possible reasons for this please?

Check that you do not have extra files in the:
    /includes/modules/payment

directory that might be causing errors as this is an auto loading directory ...

    Check that the directory:
    /includes/modules/payment

only contains code files and not language files ...

    Check that the directory:
    /includes/languages/english/modules/payment

only contains language files and not code files ...

Thanks Ajeh for responding so quickly!

I have gone back and reinstalled the entire includes directory and checked the files as you suggest. The code and language files appear to be in the correct place.

I am not sure what you mean by extra files in the includes/modules/payment directory. I haven't added or edited any since installation. Currently the files in that directory are all php files which appear to relate to the payment modules included in the download.

Look in the /cache directory to see if there are any debug logs about this ...

    Thanks for that.

    There are 2 error logs:

[11-Jan-2011 16:13:06] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /usr/local/www/vhosts/***.co.nz/httpdocs/admin/includes/functions/functions_prices.php on line 521

[16-Jan-2011 10:32:54] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /usr/local/www/vhosts/***.co.nz/httpdocs/includes/modules/payment/paypalwpp.php on line 2876

Are these errors that have been encountered before? I would be keen to know if there is a known way to fix this before counting down to line 2876

Line 2876 of httpdocs/includes/modules/payment/paypalwpp.php is the very last line:

    $db->Execute("ALTER TABLE " . TABLE_PAYPAL . " CHANGE address_state ad

Not being a code expert I am unsure as to whether it may be incomplete in some way?

Yay - think I am getting the hang of this, thanks to your guidance.

Upon examination of the file in question I found that for some reason the upload was incomplete, ie finished at line 2876, so uploaded it again and it works.

    Thanks again.
