"Show Featured Products on Main Page" set to 1 does nothing

Hello,

I am new with Zen cart. I am using the latest 1.3.9 version. I installed it on my localhost. For some reason, when I set to 1 either the "Show Featured Products on Main Page", or the New Products or Upcoming Products or the Special Product by going to Admin-> Tool->Index Listing, nothing happens. Neither one of those center boxes gets added back in. (I had set them back to zero a couple of days ago to make them disappear)

A couple of hours ago I was messing around with the Categories Bar that reads "Hardware Software DVD Players...etc" and I went to Catalog/Categories/Product and deleted them all and added new customized categories. Is this what did it?

And yes, when I click on each one of my new added categories, it takes me to a pages that says there are no current products to show.

I am not sure how to fix this, please help me. Thank you.

I tried changing the template to the classic template and the problem is still the same. I also added a new product but that didn't solve it either.

Not sure why the center boxes refuse to get added to the main page.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have active Featured Products in the Catalog ... Featured Products ...

What is the setting for the Configuration ... Maximum Values ...

Number of featured products to list on main page

The maximum number for featured products is 9. I didn't touch that configuration.

I got it to show again by modifying the tpl_main_page.php file and I can get the other center boxes to show too, it's just that if I try to make these modifications using the Admin tool, it won't do it....

Go to the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter:
tpl_modules_featured_products.php

and select Catalog and click search ...

Are any of the results commented out on the require statements?

Are any of your templates and overrides missing the required statements that the templates_default files have?

If you switch to the Classic Template does it suddenly work?

I did not see anything commented when I did the search.

How would i go about verifying this?

No, it does not work if I switch to the Classic template.

If you go to the Catalog ... Featured Products ... in your Zen Cart Admin, how many Featured Products have you created and how many are active with the Green Icon?

Alright, that was the issue. There were zero product, the thing is, I tried to add a product earlier today, but I did not highlight the product (I only had one) and thought that zencart was automatically recognizing it. I just highlighted it, and then proceeded to successfully add it. I refreshed it and now it shows.

I am having the same problem. somewhat however i am able to see the featured products on the classic template.
I am not able to see them on my template.
i searched the tpl_modules_featured_products.php in developers toolkit on both templates and both were mostly identical,except for file structure of course.
Any suggestions?
