Default Re: How to Iinstall the ZenCart1.3.9 on Local Xampp server?

H1, sorry for pushing in, but, what version of XAMPP are you using?
I installed the latest version, but Zc install came up with a PHP version issue, so i terminated the installation.
I was usign Apserv, but it would not let me test Apsona on my local server, so uninstalled it.
    Giving XAMPP a try.

    Many thanks

Default Re: How to Iinstall the ZenCart1.3.9 on Local Xampp server?

    Serious,

Sorry, my knowledge stops there - not qualified to say if the version I'm using is better or not that yours or that I should have upgraded to the latest version.

I just know that it works on my local and my server - server is lastest I believe but haven't paid attention to that - my host usually keeps it up to date I think.

One thing I can tell you is, I NEVER TOUCH THE DATABASE!

I only chage the zencart files as needed to confirgure my site, ro the security stuff, etc.

I always, always, always make backups (on a regular basis) of the database, my zencart files and my ENTIRE site - for viruses, hacks, etc.

I've also seen some of you other posts - maybe this would also help.

Set up the database, then install zencart, then make a back-up of both. You will have a base set up complete. Then you will have a backup of everything so that if you goof (like me on several occasions) you can load the base setup without having to do most of the work alll over again from the very start.

Keep at it - large learning curve but it gets easier as you go
