need to change product ID

a employee accidentally renamed an item instead of creating a new one. Then in an attempt to sort it out she deleted the one that was renamed. So now that product id #71 is gone. She recreated the missing product but the ID is #756 now so links around the internet are all busted and we likely lost the reporting for that ID?

I'd like to rename that ID back to 71. I tried doing this in the database and that doesn't work (noob move I know).

There are various tables the product id can appear in, and missing one while changing a product id would mess up the db. Ajeh would know the correct tables/fields - I've seen the info but can't find it now.

Let's step through this slowly ...

Check the following tables and see if there is a reference to the OLD products_id 71 in any of them:
products
products_description
products_to_categories
specials
featured
products_attributes

Next, check the following tables and see if there is a reference to the NEW products_id 756 in any of them:
products
products_description
products_to_categories
specials
featured
products_attributes
