Creating accounts!?

Something strange here.

I have got my express checkout to NOT automatically create account, when I checkout with the express button, it is creating an account and as per the setting to NOT create an account obviously doesnt send login info to customer..

Anyone know why it is creating the account? Know where I can look?

I do have COWOA installed so some of the files have been merged at some point so will need to know where to start looking to fault find.

By "creating an account", do you mean asking for a password? That is the only essential difference between an account and standard customer records. The customer records are stored in the database in a format that is tailored to customer account use. Are you saying they should be stored in some other format when the customer is not making an account?

I suppose you could be getting crossed signals between COWOA's method of flagging "non-account" accounts so the e-mail can be reused, and whatever Paypal Express does.

I thought when the option to NOT create an account is set, then when paypal passes the details back to the store it simply create the order with the customer deatails, not a customer account and associated password, which is what mine is doing..?

Which file would the code where it would be checking the database setting not to auto create and account? if I know that I can go have a look see if COWOA has modified any of it..
