Default Attributes missing from the database

Running 1.3.9h which was upgraded from 1.3.9f early December. Long standing installation which has been upgraded several times.

Addons are Image Handler, Admin Profiles and Sales Report

    Customized Theme

Running Linux, PHP 5.2.16, MySQL 5.1.47

Site only uses download products, no physical shipping.

About two days ago some products_attributes_download table entries dissapeared, they are a single block numbered from 3813 to 4203 (Within that block approx 120 products existed each with several downloads). Later attibutes from 4204 to 4396 are OK

At the same time the first download for each product was altered and the options_id and options_values_id fields were set to 0. These values for other attributes associated with each product were not affected so values 2, 3 4 etc are still there.

So I now have a situation on these 120 products where the first attribute now shows as TEXT rather than a download and on all the other download attributes the file name is missing.

Unfortunately the latest database backup held precedes the addition of those missing attributes, all of which were added over the last few days. So they will have to be manually put back.

I suspect this may be a server 'issue' rather than a Zen Cart one, but has anyone come across anything like this. Whilst I can put back the products I would like to be sure it is not a Zen Cart issue before doing so.

    Many Thanks

    John

You should contact your Hoster and see if they have a more recent database backup than yours. That would be fastest and will give you a chance to verify how they do their account backups.

Thanks, one of the disadvantages of cheap hosting is that they do not take backups very often and it is very difficult to get them to do anything when something does go wrong. They say they do not have any suitable backups to use. All the data has now been put back again and seems OK, so what caused it in the first place is still a mystery.
