Default Best practice for running PHP ?

We have the choice of running PHP as

    Apache Module
    CGI Module
    or Fast CGi Module

I thought I had read somewhere here that running as an apache module was a security risk but can't find the post. I did however read this tutorial which mentions apache as being the best way forward.

Just wondering did I imagine the security issue with this ?

    Thanks

You did not imagine it. Because Zen cart needs write access to certain directories (such as images), Apache forces you to make these directories world-writable.
