Upgrade from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9e and now have white screen

I have zencart 1.3.8a and just successfully created a testing folder with upgrade to 1.3.9e. Following instructions and testing site worked like a charm.

I uploaded new site files to testing folder. Edited two config files to point to new imported database. Went to zinstall and upgraded or patched database.

Uploaded template change files and it worked like a charm.

I thought I was at the point were I could down load 1.3.9e testing folder files and upload back up to my root and then edit the two config files to reflect the proper path to database and root.

After uploading and editing two config files I go to site and get a beautiful white screen. Testing folder works great. Root does not.

Any ideas what went wrong or where I should start looking?

Sounds like you went to a lot of extra effort. Is the store in your sub folder the updated one working as it should? and all the mods etc done?
If so just rename the sub folder to public_html (and the root folder to "old") or what ever your root folder is called and then edit the config files and away you go.

transfering files back and forward can easily result in errors that are hard to find

stupid question - why did you upgrade to e and not all the way to h?

I guess I could just point to the new testing folder, but id rather have it in root folder as I think it should be. Find it strange it would work in testing folder but not in root.

I downloaded the 1.3.9h package, but when I log in to admin it says current version is 1.3.9e.
Dont know how that happened. I figured after I got everything working in root folder I would go back and make necessary upgrades from e to h.

if you rename the sub directory to public html it becomes the root

and i rename it public_html, then wont the path still be public_html/public_html

first rename the excisting public_html to oldpublic_html then rename
testing to public_html change the config files use your ftp of file manager to move whole directory up a level and away you go, no moving of transfering up and down of files

I actually went back and installed 1.3.9h into root and them imported database and updated my template change files and it now seems to work ok. My download and upload from site must have missed or corrupted some files along the way.

Ill go over with a fine toothcomb this afternoon, but all seems to be working for now.
