I downloaded version 1.3.9h and installed recently. This is my first venture into shopping cart software and probably did not do something correctly on the install but don't know where to look to try and find it. I haven't found anything similar in FAQ's or on forum.
My problem:
When I start zen cart I get the following error message:
1054 Unknown column 'value' in 'field list'
in:
[select value from sessions where sesskey = 'dbsfvaulr7fol94969tj3avla0' and expiry > '1297377022']
I get a similar message when trying to run the admin console.
I am guessing I missed something on the install, but don't know what it would have been.

as it only takes a few minutes to install the easiest thing to do is to install it again assumming you have got to do anything yet

Never had the problem. It occurred suddenly. What is the cause of this error?

The "cause" is that your database has been tampered with.
And whenever something "suddenly" occurs like that, you need to confer with everyone who has access to your site to see who changed what and why. People like your staff, your partners, your hosting company, etc.
And if none of them have any answers about what things they've done lately to the site (especially in relation to the timing of when the "suddenly" happened), then you need to consider your site hacked and take recovery steps until you can prove that it's not been hacked: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...ing_From_Hacks
And if you're using an old version of Zen Cart, it's probably time to upgrade to benefit from the latest security protections..

Problem was caused by installation of gallery3 which drops the session table and creates a new one with other column names. problem fixed by installing gallery3 with prefix or in another database. recreated the sesssion table manually.

Thanks for confirming that the problem was a result of installing other software that uses conflicting database tablenames.
