Default Easy Populate - Image Storage - Folder Question

    Hi,

So far I love Easy Populate but am trying to get a handle on the image thing.

Where exactly do I put my images? Where would I put the folder?

For example - if I did it one product at a time, I would load the image from the product page into a folder "my images". I could then find them easy in my FTP program and replace the image iff needed.

Also just to clarify it for others and to see if I get it right...

If I have a flower shop

    Flowers(has a picture of flowers)
    ---Tulips(image of tulip)
    ------Red tulips
    ------Blue tulips
    ---Roses (image)
    -----Red
    -----White
    -----Yellow
    etc, etc

    Catagory 1(e.g. flowers):
    Image Folder

    Category 1
Image folder 1 - has 1 image with a lot of flowers
    Sub-catagory 1 (tulips)
    Sub-Image folder 1 - has 1 image with a tulip on it
    Subcatagory 2 (red tulips)
Sub-Image folder 2 - is where I put all the pics of the red tulips.
    Subcatagory 3 (blue tulips)
Sub-Image folder 3 - is where I put all the pics of the blue tulips.

Or can I just put all the images into one folder to make things easier?

How do I determine the path to find the right folder?

Default Re: Easy Populate - Image Storage - Folder Question

For simplicity I just load all images into the images folder, at /public_html/images, that way all I have to do is type the file name in the image column (in excel) and then when I am done I ftp the whole folder of pics into the images folder and then, using easypopulate I import the tab deliminated text file into the db.

You could put each categorie's picture into a subfolder under public_html/images, for example category2, then in your .txt file you would put category2/pic.jpg (pic.jpg is just an exmple) for your picture file name in the images column. Either way, it always looks to the images folder.

If you are doing one item at a time using the admin and not easypopulate, then it will automatically load the picture you select into the images folder once you update the product.
