I was wondering if it was possible to have the flat rate shipping to specific products, instead of having it as a shipping option when a customer checks out?

What happens when these specific Products are in the cart with other products at the same time?

Here is what I want to do:
Some of my products are playing cards, that you can buy one by one. I would like to offer a flat rate for these products, no matter how many you buy. I would like to offer this flat rate when someone buys only these products.

All the products could be identified by categories.

If people mix these with other products, I would like the regular shipping methods to take over.

The regular shipping modules are:
Free Shipping
Canada Post
Store Pick Up

The regular shipping charges are based on weight and dimensions in the canada post module. The free shipping is currently used for very specific promotions.

So if the Flat Rate for these specific Products is $2.75 ...

Let's say a regular Product for Canada Post comes up as $3.95 ...

What happens if the special Product and the regular Product are in the same cart for the shipping?

Yes, yes, in my situation, this is exactly what I want.

Product 1 - Weight 1 lb
Product 2 0 weight 1 lb
Playing Cards - ( Dont take weight into consideration, just have flat rate $5)

Total shipping cost:

Cost of shipping 2 lb + Flat rate for playing cards

Ex - $7 + $5( flat rate) = $12
