Default Re: Moved to new server (GoDaddy), now I'm lost

I had to split my database 3 ways. The first part uploaded fine. All the rest won't load. I can't believe all this has to be so difficult. I just need the cart to function with my old database... it sounds like it should be way easier than this and I've already spent 2.5 days.

Much of this issue is your poor choice of a host

You can "try" to get GoDaddy support to run the database backup in for you via SSH. Upload the complete backup file to the root of your Zen Cart site, "Drop" all the tables which did import, raise a support ticket with GoDaddy giving them the name and location of the database backup, the name of the new database plus its User Name and Password - and ask them to use SSH to import it for you. Explain that it is too large to be imported using phpMyAdmin.

Another thing which might work for you is to import the database in gzip format using something like 7-zip.

My database still wont upload completely.
    It stops at "orders"

I left godaddy and moved to a new server.

Might this be because my database is from an older version of zc?

    ToyLady,
    I share your frustration ,
sounds like a job for Navicat? I've had 100% success importing databases using Navicat . where is the database now? on disc? or is it still on a GoDaddy box?
and how large is it in terms of MB's?

ok, for starters uncompress it and see what size it is and how many tables are in it.

If you have a local LAMP, WAMP or XAMPP installation then try to import your DB there using your local phpMyAdmin.

If that doesn't want to play then I am only guessing that the DB is possibly corrupted.
