Can I chnge the required information on the Creat Account Page?

I wanted to no if it is possible to change what is required on the create account page? If so what file should I change? I looked at the COWOA but that is not what I am looking for. I want them to register for an account, I just think some of that information is not necessary. I don't care for your phone number, company name, your age, shoe size, etc. so I would like to remove those from the form. Any help provided, is truly appreciated. Thanks.

Found out through another post how to disable them as required, but I really want to remove them all together. I went into the english.php file and removed them completely but that didn't do the trick. I could have done something screwy, so my questions is can certain fields be removed completely from the create account page?

Check the settings in the Configuration ... Customer Details ...

and then check the settings in the Configuration ... Minimum Values ... for any related changes that might need adjusting ...
