HELP!!! Products have gone missing

I have been adding product for a year and last week went into my catalog and changed the font color of several products and added some meta tags. Today I go in to continue my work and I the products are no longer there. The id is there but if I open the product is disabled and picture and product info is no longer there. The name of the product is gone.. everything about it is gone.
On products that I have not touched they are fine. The counts say for the category (example) 1 of 16 active. Yesterday 16 of 16 were active.
HELP!!!

Please submit a link to your site please and look in the root directory under the folder called Cache and do you have any errors ?

If you do not have a set of files backup and are not taking a daily DB Backup

You need to start NOW

That does not assist with what has passed for if you have no DB Backup it is a shame

Are these not listed in your admin ?

No they are no longer listed in the Product Catalog in the Admin. Is this something that routinely happens or am I just the lucky one?

You are right I did not back up like I should and this will be a painful lesson if I have to start again - but before I do will upgrading to the latest version help? If I have not identified the problem then it stands that it will continue.

If not using the latest more secure version - - You might check for a hack

What you posted is not a normal happening as these are stored in the DB, one has to have some outside influence for them to be removed

Hello I too seems to have a problem where my products have gone missing.
MY store was behaving Eratic so i re installed zen cart I HAD DONE A BACKUP OF THE MYSQL THAT WHERE I IMPORTED MY THE CATEGORIES AND PRODUCTS FROM. THE CATEGORIES ARE THERE BUT NO PRODUCTS OR CATEGORIES COUNT
