Category problem

Help needed.

I'm a little proficient with php but I can't figure out why this is happening. I can set up categories and subcategories however when I set up a subcategory, the main/parent category will display the main index page. I have some mods installed and I have Winmerge but I don't know what to look for. It didn't always do this and I'm not quite sure when it started.

Any ideas?

A link to your site and explaining which pages are effected would make it easier to figure out.

You are talking about the front end shop? not a prob in admin?

Any category that has a subcategory will display the contents of the define_main_page file with the sen greeting (though I have the greeting turned off, and the greeting doesn't normally show on the main page).
