Default Suddenly, changes are not being applied

    This is really weird.

    New install on Monday.
Design and tweaking of Admin controls all throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.

Now today, Thursday, any changes I make to the files or within Admin are not being applied.

    Examples:

    1) Turned off display of weight and "this product was added" from individual product page.

    2) In english.php file, changed text from "larger image" to "Enlarge Image". No change. So I went into the template and hard coded the change. No change.

    3) Search side box. In english.php file, changed box heading text from "Search" to "Search AAGlockShop" ... no change.

I am not receiving any error messages anywhere (such as can not write to file, etc).

    Add-ons installed:
    a) Monthly Sales and Tax Summary Report
    b) Column Layout/Grid Layout for Products Listing
    c) Footer Menu
    d) Image Handler 2 for v1.3.x

Everything worked fine after each of the above installs, which I did on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Any ideas of where to look for the problem of what could suddenly stop changes to files and Admin settings from being applied?

    www.aaglockshop.com

    Sorry about that.

Only the "Fullsize" category has any products (dummy products right now, just using to design layouts).

Funny thing though - I just changed parameters for #productMainImage in the CSS and those changes were made just fine.

    I am confused.

Yup, any changes I make to the main stylesheet is just fine.

On a side note, I'll be stepping out here shortly for some errands for the rest of the afternoon. Will check back this evening for any responses.

    Thanks!

If you switch to the classic template are the changes applied properly?

    Ok, I've changed to Classic.

The "larger image" is now "Enlarge Image", as I wanted it.

But "This product was added..." and the stock and weight are all still showing.

The search box isn't showing, so I can't tell you if the header changed on that, but it should since that was done in the same english.php file.

So, why would the template make a difference for the english.php file and the Admin settings? In all the installs I've done of Zencart, this is the first for me.

I changed it back to the custom template.

I've seen to narrow it down to changes to the /languages/english.php file do not seem to want to take.

I just tried to change the "Add to Cart" text next to the add to the cart button to "Quantity" ... no change.

BTW: where can I change the position of the add to cart button?
I will be creating my own version, but using the same file name.
But I may need to align it better so it is down even with the quantity box and a smidge to the right. None of the usual commands seem to work in the add to cart section of the tpl_product_info_display.php file.

You need to use the override system for your language changes.

Oh geez! I totally forgot I created that already. I've just been saving it to the original one and not my override.

My official "blonde moment" of the day.

ok, now to figure out the movement of the add to cart button and I'll be set there.

Thanks so much for being a second pair of eyes.
