Attribute - size different options different products

Hello,

I'm a little bit confused about attributes. I did read this tutorial https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=57 but it's still magic to me. I would like to have an simple drop down menu related to a specific size. For example, I have a product A that will be available in following sizes (no other options, just a size, same weight same shipping)

product A Standard size 1/4 price listed as $25 (this is listed on product detail page)

Additional sizes listed as a dropdown menu

Drop down options:
- size 3/8 $30
- size 1/2 $35
- size 7/8 $37


Product B Standard size 5mm price listed $25 (this is listed on product detail page)

Additional sizes listed as a dropdown menu

Drop down options:
- size 6mm $30
- size 7mm $35
- size 8mm $37

Can anyone explain an easy way to accomplish what I'm looking for?

You could make your Products as Priced by Attribute and set the Price to 0.00 ...

Then add your Option Name as:
Size
Radiobutton

Make your Option Values as as:
Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: Pick a Size
Default Sort: 0

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 1/4
Default Sort: 20

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 3/8
Default Sort: 30

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 1/2
Default Sort: 40

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 7/8
Default Sort: 70

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 5mm
Default Sort: 50

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 6mm
Default Sort: 60

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 7mm
Default Sort: 70

Option Name: Size
Option Value Name: 8mm
Default Sort: 80



Now add the Attributes as:
Option Name: Size
Option Value: Pick a size
Price 0.00
Default: Yes
Display Only: Yes

Option Name: Size
Option Value: 1/4
Price 25.00

Option Name: Size
Option Value 3/8
Price 30.00

Option Name: Size
Option Value 1/2
Price 35.00

Option Name: Size
Option Value 7/8
Price 37.00


For the other use:
Option Name: Size
Option Value: Pick a size
Price 0.00
Default: Yes
Display Only: Yes

Option Name: Size
Option Value 5mm
Price 25.00

Option Name: Size
Option Value 6mm
Price 30.00

Option Name: Size
Option Value 7mm
Price 35.00

Option Name: Size
Option Value 8mm
Price 37.00

After they are made for a Product just hit the Update Sort Order, if needed ... and you are done ...

Make sure that you mark the Attribute for the Select Thread Size as:
Default: YES
Display Only: YES

so the customer cannot pick that selection and must make a valid selection ...
