    Default Making Attribute Options Required

    Hello,

I've tried to search for the solution and have not been able to come up with it, so if this is redundant I apologize!

My store has a few things that are sold in different sizes. Since they are different sizes, the prices are different obviously.

I need to force the customer to choose a size they would like. The store owner and I do not want to have the price reading 'Starting At', in case the customer sees the $10, and then choose something that adds $5 to the total, they may not want to purchase the item.

Is there a way to have my drop down box and radio buttons required? I really need some help with this!!

    Thanks a lot

You need an additional Option Value ...

Option Name: Size (or whatever you are using)
Option Value: Select a size (or something like that)
    Default Sort Order: 0

Now add it as an Attribute with:
    Option Name: Size
    Option Value: Select a Size
    Display Only: YES
    Default: YES

Now the customer is forced to pick a valid selection ...

Man, I looked around quite a bit, and have the Zen-Cart books to boot. Simple fix, and easy to understand - difficult to get to the answer though!!

    Thanks guys.

How would you make a text field required? As text, it does not have a value to add.

    Thank you.

On the right side of the Attribute Settings is a:

    for Text:

That's what I thought, but even though it is checked and the square in the legend is red next to that attribute, I can still check out without putting anything in the text box. I did not know if I was missing a step.

    Thanks.
