Bogus orders

In my site, when a customer makes a purchase, she goes to an external site for payment and comes back via a return link.

Apparently now, if the return #1 is being processed and she follows the same link again (maybe realod in a case where the processing takes a long time), also the return #2 leads to an order generated.

So the customer gets two (or more!) orders for the same payment.

I would need a quick fix to this, so any advice would be helpful.
