Stock by Attributes, out of stock not working correctly.

Hi guys,

I'm having an issue with my Zen Cart and Stock by Attributes module. First, here are the versions I have:

Zen Cart v1.3.9h
Stock by Attributes Version: 1.4.12

The stock by attributes seems to work correctly until I present it with a certain situation. For example, I have product "A" with a couple of attributes:

Sizes: x-small, medium, large etc..
Design: name1, name2, etc..

I only have in stock:
30 "A"s in x-small design 1
6 "A"s in medium design 1

Now anytime I have both of these products in my shopping cart and the FIRST one in the list is over the stock limit, it causes all of the rest of the products to show out of stock, even if the second item is not out of stock.

Shopping cart example #1 (works like it should):
30 "A"s in x-small design 1
6 "A"s in medium design 1

Shopping cart example #2 (fails):
31 "A"s in x-small design 1 [OUT OF STOCK]
3 "A"s in medium design 1 [OUT OF STOCK]

Shopping cart example #3 (fails):
7 "A"s in medium design 1 [OUT OF STOCK]
30 "A"s in x-small design 1 [OUT OF STOCK]

Shopping cart example #4 (Correct):
6 "A"s in medium design 1
33 "A"s in x-small design 1 [OUT OF STOCK]

Anyone have an idea how to fix this problem? Or if this is an inherent flaw, where should I look to change the "Out of Stock" shopping cart code?

Stock by attributes is a 3rd party contributed add on module and there is an area where support for them is asked and given

Was a solution ever posted to this anywhere? I've been searching for an answer to this same problem and I can't seem to find it.

I am trying to find the answer myself. I installed stock by attribute and it is a great update.
However, when I one of the attribute of my product goes out of stock, the shopper still is able to check out the same attribute product until total number goes out of stock.

For example,
I have a dress and one of the common attribute is size.
For testing purpose, I have set the quantity:

S : 1
M : 1
L :1
XL : 1
--
So the "stock by attribute" shows that I have total number of products is 4 (which in my mind is not quite accurate).
Now I can check out 4 small size dress with out any problem. If I try to add 5th one in my cart, it shows the insufficient product.

Is there any way to show "out of stock" message when I try to check out 2nd small dress ?

Kuroi : Is this issue fixed in the latest download ? Do you have any plan for incorporating this in the future releases ? If not, will it be reasonable to add this limitation in the wiki page so that people like me do not clutter the forum for this issue?

I had a similar issue with this module. So i asked our designer to install a feature on our product pages that tells the customer if the attribute combination (unlimited amount of option/attributes) is in stock before they add to cart. Check it out if you want www.redpostequestrian.co.uk .
I have asked them to provide the code for this so that it can be made available in the addons. I am awaiting response.

Did anyone ever figure this out? Help would be greatly appreciated. It is rather obvious that the add-on can't separate the two, three etc. attributes and just pulls the stock from the total amount.
