    Default Apache modules

    Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows the bare minimum apache modules needed for zencart to run?

    Many Thanks

Most people who want to install Zen-Cart on a local server install WAMPP or XAMPP,
both of which have all necessary requirements for Zen-Cart.

    Thanks for the reply.

i'm thinking more from a security standpoint the less modules running on apache the less vulnerable it is to attack.

    Many thanks

Where are you intending to install zencart?
Home computer or paid web hosting?

Server security comes at a number of levels from the hardware, operating system, application layer (control panel) right up to httpd, the version of your software (zen cart) and your own login details. Also ensure your server is firewall protected and only the correct ports are open!

The apache security tips is always helpful - http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mis...rity_tips.html
    Here are some others:
Apache step by step - http://www.symantec.com/connect/arti...ache-step-step
20 ways to Secure your Apache Configuration - http://www.petefreitag.com/item/505.cfm

I would suggest you take this offline and talk with your hosting provider.

Ah and dont forget to visit the PCI Security Standards Council website - ensure your hosting is PCI compatible https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/

    Good luck.

As opposed to being obnoxious and saying hurrrl2computer, this is what I use:

    LoadModule authz_host_module modules/mod_authz_host.so
    LoadModule log_config_module modules/mod_log_config.so
    LoadModule mime_magic_module modules/mod_mime_magic.so
    LoadModule setenvif_module modules/mod_setenvif.so
    LoadModule mime_module modules/mod_mime.so
    LoadModule autoindex_module modules/mod_autoindex.so
    LoadModule negotiation_module modules/mod_negotiation.so
    LoadModule dir_module modules/mod_dir.so
    LoadModule alias_module modules/mod_alias.so
