EVERYTHING is centered... EVERYTHING! please help me

I have no idea what I did to change the global default to centered, but my sideboxes, descriptions, almost the entire site is now with centered text and pics, even when I manually enter html to align left.

some info: I am using 1.3.9h, I did play with the copyright in the footer, maybe that is when this happened?

Your product description on the product info pages appear ok not centered
I suspect that you are referencing your product listing pages and if so find this in your stylesheet

i tried that, no change, but maybe I am editing the wrong stylesheet.css? there are so many. I grabbed the one in catalog/includes/templates/future_zen/css

Also, it appears to me that will alter the product listings, but not the category box, so can you tell me what it is called and I will do some trial and error changes, or maybe I will figure out which page needs to be editied

let me say this is not happening in firefox, only IE8
