How To ? change Home Link

Hi, can someone please tell me how to change the home link from an image to the word Home.
i've tried altering tpl_top_nav (in my template area) but i seem to be missing something - it keeps looking a mess...

but now i've lost the rounded corners. boo.

This is not core templating. What template are you using?

This started out as a template from 12leaves... was this a bad idea? should i have started from scratch? (sorry, bit a noob).

i was hoping to make a clean and simple shop like http://vacuumfilters.org/
if you have any suggestions i'm all ears
