Default Extra Fields on product_listing page

I have tried a number of things from posts on this forum and others places, but nothing seems to be doing the trick for me.

I have a number of extra fields in my products table and need to show 1 or more of them on the product_listing page.

I managed to get it to work for me on previous projects using 1.3.8a, but those are long gone so have no code to compare to.

I found this post which seems to be the best one, but its not working for me at all.

I have seen it done by other members, but unfortunately, the ones that say they have managed to do it, never seem to mention how they solved it.

What I have at the moment is

QTY - Model - Product Name

What I need on the product listing is

    QTY - Model - Product Name - Location/Town

Here is the listing page as it is now
    http://timberdecks.ie/trades/index.p...=index&cPath=1

    Thanks in advance

    DB

Well you need to find out what php file the product listing page is. Look in your address bar to see the file name. Now there may be several files with the same name. The only way that I have been able to make it work is to make some minor text change on the page in each file one at a time. Once the change appears on the page, I know that I have the correct file.

Then, its just a matter of editing the php code to include your fields. You will also need to find the "structure" that pulls the fields from the database. This is an SQL statement that normally appears somewhere near the top of the script.

    Hope this helps...

    Chris
