Flag New Products with in a Category?

It is not officially released yet, but the preliminary copy attached above should work... though there might have to be some updating for v1.5.0. Any files that would have to be updated would be extremely simple, as existing files that are modified only have one function call added in one spot. I am too busy right now organizing a festival on my land, but when I can breathe after that, I can look into it. Meanwhile, if you are even vaguely familiar with PHP and file comparing, you should be able to do it for yourself.

Did you ever get change to take a further look at this please? It looks like a fantastic little add on which I would love to use on my v1.5 store, I just wouldn't have a clue where to start trying to 'upgrade' it to be compatible with v1.5.

Not sure that there is an admin menu component to this at all.. That would be the only reason that this would need to be "upgraded" to v1.5.. So basically the version attached to Glenn's earlier post should work just fine if you want to use it.. Just use a file merging program to compare and merge the changes in the package files and you should be good..

No admin component, so it should be compatible with v1.5.x... there might be a file or two that needs to be updated to the latest version, but the file edits for the mod are so tiny that it would be a breeze (about one line per file, plus head comments).
I had forgotten that I hadn't actually submitted this mod to Plugins.

Hello,

I have this module installed on 1.5.0 and have all images set to foreground.
How do I get the icons to show up next or on top of the product image for both center boxes and product listing (using column layout grid module)?
Also, for the final version, I'd like to suggest having the icons for featured products as well.

You would want to move the product_icons() function call to just before the image code in the relevant files, then possibly adjust the styling if necessary.

The "featured" icon is in the works, as is application to pretty much every kind of listing.

I really like this module and I wanted to ask you if the final version with support of the featured products icon will be released. I also think that some of us would like the icons to show as overlaid on product image in all listings. I never managed to do this myself, so perhaps someone can give more details on doing this.

Thanks for this add on.

Just started playing around with it. I have changed the image icons to a css ribbon, but am running into an issue with the display in the 'new products' vs category product listings.

When its displayed in the 'New Products' and Search Results page, my positions are all wrong.

I only see where the div is defined once in the product_icon_functions.php, so not sure how I can use different css as necessary for the different pages, as I am a hack at best when it comes to styling via css.

I realize this isn't entirely related to this add on, but hoping to get this squared away then can post up the css changes required for ribbons if anyone wants them in relation to this addon.

You can qualify the rule with the class or id of the page type, like

#productListing .bIS>.ribbonWrapper>.ribbon {}

or whatever selectors you need.
