This is weird! Customers placing orders but orders not showing up or notifying me?

Ok, I have had two customers place orders today. Both times, they were able to pay via paypal, HOWEVER.....while they are showing up as opening accounts, their orders are NOT showing up anywhere and I am not receiving an email stating they have placed an order.
If I go to admin, customers, orders.........there is nothing
If i got to reports, customer orders, there is nothing

I am using paypal websites payment standard IPN

Paypal is working fine, I am getting paypal notifications along with order details.

The zencart is not taking the stock off or listing any order information at all.....anywhere.

I am not sure what you mean by this, "Reply with answers to the posting tips" but I am assuming somewhere in the forum is a step by step guide on what info I need to share? I will go look for that.

What version of Zen Cart? 1.3.9h

Is it a new install or an upgrade? new install

What the addons/contributions you have installed? recover cart

What customizations have you made? a few on the template. I do not know how to do anything else.

What type of server are you using? Hostmonster

Are you installing locally? via hostmonster

What operating system? Windows XP

What version of PHP is installed on the server? 5.2.17

What version of MYSQL is installed on the server? 5.1.56-community-log

What you were doing when your problem occurred? Checking a customers order

What are the steps to reproduce the problem? the customers are not having any issues. They say check out is seamless and easy.

Have you attempted to fix the problem? If I knew what it was, i could fix it.

What steps have you taken? I have checked all admin areas where customers input data or where reports should be. While I do have a listing of the customer when they sign up, even if they have made an order, the information says they have made NO orders. No order information shows up anywhere, nor am i being sent an email stating they have opened an account OR placed an order.

Everything else works fine.

Can you turn on PayPal IPN, Website Payments Standard your logging errors and report back..

IPN is buggy at best. Why not switch to Express Checkout?

@dbltoe Paypal works FINE. It is zencart that is not logging the orders, order totals, etc

Perhaps you might want to scroll to the bottom of this page and see how many folks are having a similar problem with IPN. Until you can prove that IPN is completely finishing it's attempt to finalize the transaction, I'll keep my money on IPN.
Check the cache folder for any debug files just to make sure something else is not munged.
