Product Name and Discription disapear

I am using v1.3.9h of zen cart installed on a linux server using mySQL database. Anytime I go in and modify a product for any reason, eg. price change, the product name and product description disappear and have to be reentered. Is this suppose to happen? If not, how do I correct it?

This is due to some modification you have done.

Your data is not being save to the database.

Compare the files in your admin/includes/module to a Fresh Zen Cart install, most likely something is corrupted or missing.

I downloaded a fresh copy and compared the date and time codes with the ones on my server and they are identical. Just to make sure I replaced the entire module directory and subdirectories with the new set but that did not solve the problem.

Any other thoughts? Permissions are all set to 777 (which should be overkill)

Hi, didn't see your second repose. I suspect that is it. I will update my PHP and see if my problem goes away.

Then be sure to read and follow all of the security recommendations in the /docs/ folder - leaving permissions at 777 is asking for trouble.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue.
I host with 1and1.com and their PHP version just says 5.
I'm not too familiar with PHP and linux.
I've read the posting which is linked from here but my customer info has all the appropriate information.
The only thing which is happening is that the item descriptions, titles, and almost everything except "Price" and "Picture File" is resetting when I go to edit an item.

My site name is www.thedenimbarusa.com/public_html.

I've tried to go in and change the php file mentioned in the link but I actually don't have a includes/function/general.php. I have a includes/function/functions_general.php and line 39 is different than the one mentioned in the post.

I found a line which was similar but the ending of the line was different as well so I did not change anything for now.

Getting this fixed would be an incredible plus because I have to change pricing of items periodically!

I just changed my server from PHP4 to PHP5 and it is working now.
No need to respond to this question.
