installed template not showing in dropdown list

Hi just uploaded a different template as per how too found here http://www.geraelindsey.com/zencart-...tes-in-zencart but it's not showing in the dropdown list in template selection. Ive checked in the includes/teplates folder and it is there, have I missed something

Zencart looks for the template_info.php file in each template's 'home' directory (includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME) to build the list in admin, so I would suspect that file isn't in that folder for your new template.

Rite made sure the template_info.php is in the template folder still no joy and theres no mentiion of the install proceedure in the manual I downloaded is there an idiots guide somewhere save me asking dumb questions

You need to drag and drop the includes folder from the mod to the root (top) directory of your store, not the folder you referenced. The Cherry Zen template includes a very complete installation guide in a read me file.

I thought i would check out the cherry_zen template for fun and it installed okay. I have not done an additional template in years always used my custom_template. So I triple checked where everything went and they were right.

But my custom_template is now gone!
Just Cherry and Classic Contemporary green were the choices?
I rechecked and I had everything where it is supposed to be, so I removed Cherry and its files with no luck.
Now I only have Classic C. Green.
I did no overrides.

Did I break my cart? My custom_template files are still there and yes I tried Admin reset (on classic green).
But I can't choose from list my own tried and true template in admin.
Any clues I may look at?

See post #2, and check to see if that file is in the includes/templates/YOUR_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE folder.

Yes it is there, always was, I did not accidentally remove it or anything else. The last time it was in my admin list was when I saw the "Choice" of cherry or green classic. When I picked cherry and only looked around for about 5 min. and went back to admin, my Custom_template choice was gone in admin, but none of my files on the server.
I did back up first, I am about to try that for just the catalog files and not the DB hoping the DB did not get changed. (I did not use the SQL option for cherry, just the install files)

Well, I reinstalled my backup of catalog/.... and still no my_custom_template as choice in admin, just the classic green.
I did not think this type of template install would change the DB, but is that possible?
