    Default Displaying Prices ex GST

On our store we would like to be able to display prices ex GST, or so the price reads xxxx plus GST. The problem is that when a ustomer goes to checkout, we need to be able not to show GST at all in that part of the process, as there is a line in the checkout which shows the GST element. I can't seem to find a module or add-on, and have no idea of how to do this unless we write additional code. The only place we want to show GST is on the home page of our store and on the product description page and category page. On the checkout process we do not need to say plus GST as the amounts are shown as a line for the amount, a line for the GST and a line for the total. Ideally we would not charge GST on shipping either, but it seems to be the case that you cannot customize the way that tax is displayed, it's either everywhere or nowhere.....

Thanks for reading this, and please feel free to reply if there is a solution.

Seems you're seeing things from the wrong view.

If you have your site set up as Display Prices with Tax Included set to FALSE, then Zen Cart will automatically add and display GST only during checkout. It doesn't say "xxxx plus GST" anywhere. Tax is only mentioned as one of the subtotals which add up to the final purchase price total.
And, yes, you can set shipping tax separately from products.

I realise that Australia isn't the only country with GST, so this may not be applicable to you, but if you are an Aussie Merchant it would be illegal for you to display your prices in this manner.
