Could not instantiate mail function

Hi I am trying to send a html newsletter via the "email" rather than "Newsletter" facility

I can send an email to myself and it comes through fine.
However when I try to send to all customers (2156 of them) I get the following error and then a Notice saying the email has been sent. The single email comes through in seconds but an hour later there is not sign of the "proper" email so I can only assume that it wasn't sent to all customers even though it seems to indicate it was.
Any ideas appreciated?

Please check Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Transport

So what are your settings in email options??

I believe you will find that your host restricts sending that many emails

This is advertising and if you did this vis US mail it would cost the paper, envleope and a stamp times 2156

Hosting does not provide for FREE advertising via email and should not

There are several mass mail services for this precise purpose and their templating also increases your shops professionalism

Hi Kobra thanks for reply, we only send out an email once a year so I don't think this is excessive.
E-Mail Transport Method PHP
I have emailed my hosts to see if there is a problem there.
