Don't forget that you do also need to have a dedicated ip address, which you will have to buy in from your hosting company - and you will need to have the ability to install the SSL Certificate yourself.

In the case of the company named they provide Comodo SSL Certs (as we used to do), but since Comodo were hacked around two months ago ALL certificates they issue have to be manually validated (faxing of documents etc). This is a long and tedious procedure.

Depends on what your host charges for the IP address. I've used hosts who charge $20pa at the top end down to a no cost, just a good reason (SSL cert is a good enough reason).

Just an observation, but you seem to be spending an awful lot of time investigating a very small spend. If that's reflective of your client's attitude, I'd be considering whether the business is worth it.

£49.00 plus vat for the dedicated ip address, plus full ssl certificate, plus the purchasing and installing of it for you is very reasonable (IMO).
