USPS Shipments to Great Britain not quoted

I'm having difficulty configuring for international shipments to Great Britain from the USA using the U S Postal Service.

Customers in Great Britain are unable to complete their orders. With Great Britain addresses there are no shipping options displayed in the shipping estimator when viewing the Shopping Cart. Step 1 of checkout displays message: "Not Available at this Time. Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time.
Please contact us for alternate arrangements."

Here are all the configuration settings I think apply:

The products being ordered are not configured for free shipping (Normal shipping rules). Shipping weight of orders generally less than 2 pounds and more than 5 ounces.

What is the Great Britain Zone Definition that you have created?

Is there a purpose for it or are you just trying to make the Shipping to the United Kingdom with USPS work?

Are you trying to limit USPS to only ship to the United Kingdom?

My postal system (Endicia) does not accept United Kingdom and pops up a message that the Bristish Postal System prefers Great Britain instead. In retrospect, I guess it doesn't make sense to have both names configured since that won't change the addressing.

To answer your other question. No. There are other zones defined besides these two. These two zones are included among others in my zone definition for what I called "All approved" zone which is intended to include all zones that I have chose to ship to.

My "All approved" zone is described as "US and International via USPS" and is defined as follows:

Canada all zones
Great Britain all zones
Spain all zones
United Kingdom all zones
United States all zone

The Zone selected in my USPS Shipping Module is "All approved" (I made in error in Post #1 and said it was GB)

The problem is that the USPS shipping module converts the Country Name ...

I cannot tell for sure based on the information you are providing if the new Great Britain has stepped outside the test that is done in the USPS shipping module ...

First, what are your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

Next, what is the weight of the order you are testing ...

Then, if you switch the address to use the United Kingdom vs the Great Britain that you made, does USPS work now?

Shipping weight of orders generally less than 2 pounds and more than 5 ounces. Tests were made for a 4 ounce package and a 17 ounce package.

I have attempted shipping to Great Britain as well as United Kingdom and no USPS services appeared in the Shipping Estimator or in the shopping cart.

After removing the UK zones from the Zone Definitions I attempted again to ship to Great Britain with the same failed result.

Additional notes:
The products being ordered are not configured for free shipping (Normal shipping rules).

I have eliminated the UK or United Kingdom zones from my zone definitions, leaving only GB or Great Britain zones to cover that area.

The following statement appears in my Endicia software when attempting to mail to the UK:
"The USPS recommends against the use of UNITED KINGDOM as the destination country name - they will NOT allow the use of that country name with Global Express Mail or on customs forms. The USPS recommends changing the address to use the specific country name for the address (e.g. SCOTLAND, ENGLAND, ETC.) or using GREAT BRITAIN."

See post #1 for the rest of my shipping configurations. The current configurations are the same except that United Kingdom has been removed from the zone definition for "GB". Only "Great Britain" (all zones) is now included.

If you edit the address and change it to the United Kingdom, does it work?

Setting "Shipping Zone" in the USPS shipping module to "none" results in the same message: "Not Available At This Time
Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time."

With the above settings, changing the address from Great Britain to United Kingdom continues to fail in provding a shipping quote.

A. It's an inelegant way to avoid dimensional weight charges as our products are very light in relation to size. The issue doesn't come up very often. I can change the Max Pkg Wt setting if that will fix the Great Britain issue.

ISSUE RESOLVED

Item customer was ordering was configured for Free Shipping and Great Britain was not included in the zones for free shipping.
