    Default paypal express checkout error 1.3.9d

    i just installed paypal express in a new shop and there is a slight problem:

    1) if i click the zen 'go to checkout' button, it works perfectly. transfers to paypal and back with confirmation etc..

    2) if i click the 'checkout with paypal' button
    a) get directed to paypal and login
    b) get directed to 'review information' and confirm
    c) get returned to zen step 2 of 3 - payment information, and check 'i have read terms and conditions'
    d) i then click 'continue checkout' and get error 'Please select a payment method for your order'

    i'm stuck. any ideas please?

    maybe i can just delete the paypal button altogether?

    does anyone know where it is? file? name?

    In v1.3.9h ... if you edit the PayPal Express payment module you will see:
    Express Checkout Shortcut Button
    The Express Checkout Shortcut button shows up on your shopping cart page to invite your customers to pay using PayPal without having to give all their address details on your site first before selecting shipping options.
    It has been shown to increase sales and conversions when enabled.

    ah, i'm on 1.3.9d....

    i just downloaded the upgrade and read:

    NOTE:
    If you're upgrading from v1.3.9a or b or c or d or e or f, you can simply update the files listed in EACH OF the various "Changelog for v1.3.9b" and "c" and "d" and "e" and "f" and "g" in the /docs/ folder of the download zip.
    (There are no database changes between v1.3.9a-b-c-d-e-f-g-h.)
    (there's no need to remove/re-install payment modules between "d" and "e" and "f" and "g" and "h")

    does that mean i can just copy all the changelog files in downloaded zip and drop them in my original docs folder? and thats it, upgrade complete?

    Unless you have customizations, you can copy the changed files ...

    If you have customizations, you will want to merge the files using something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com ...

    p.s. i paid someone to upgrade to h anyway so i'll let you all know if paypal express is working perfectly for me now. as if you care...
