Shipping Costs Per State

Hi all,

I'm using version v1.3.9g and have an issue I've read about a couple of times.

Basically the shipping is working perfectly for smaller items, which is calculated by total price.

However there are some bigger items (Life rafts, for example) that I intend on adding a freight symbol to. The client would get the shipping cost after the order. After some reading I've seen that orders cannot be edited after they have been placed therefore the client cannot come back and pay later.

The only solution I can think of is that I can add specific shipping costs for each item dependent on the state its going to, but then a problem arises if there is say 2 of one of the bulkier items?

Does anyone know a better work around for this? Or any kind of add-on that will pause a transaction to reload later with updated shipping costs? Or am I stuck typing as many specifics as I can?

Any topics on this seem to be years old...

Click on Configuration > Shipping/Packaging to access the Shipping/Packaging screen.

Hope this gives you some help. I bought the zen e book and it sure did help me alot.
