No, it wasn't too stupid, and if it was "stupid" I wouldn't just dismiss you!

I don't want the software to have any issues, at least without an explanation being present in the docs, and I haven't seen or heard of this issue with the also purchased box before.

I also haven't used the also purchased box in a long time so when I got your post the first thing I did was open includes/modules/also_purchased_products.php to look at its code. I couldn't see anything obvious and since it's not a major issue, plus I am not feeling the best, I posted the message I did.

I will check this out in more detail when I've time (I need to create some fake purchases and enable this functionality on a test site).

Thanks for your additional comments. :)

    Hey, you've a cheek! ;)

You should be getting better yourself!

Of course, seriously, thanks as always for your support, you're too kind! ;)

I'm happy enough to answer things as and when I feel up to it at the minute, so don't worry. When I go for surgery I'll of course stop posting here for a while.

Well, in Ceon URI Mapping's case you can.. hundreds of hours have been invested in the latest version alone so as I say above, I want to have the satisifcation of knowing there are no known bugs and any issues, such as the cPath issue with linked products, are documented.

I've a strong feeling that this too is such an "issue" with Zen Cart, and as with linked products can be ignored because of Ceon URI Mapping's nifty canonical support.

Have a good day.. hope it's going well for you and that today you yourself are stronger still!

    All the best...

I've tested this fully now and cannot replicate the behaviour.. so this is a problem specific to your site. Maybe you have a custom "also purchased" file which isn't building the zen_href_link properly?

Regardless, with Ceon URI Mapping's canonical support, there are no ill effects as a result of this, other than the URIs for that centre box not looking as nice as they could! :)

    About to release 4.0.3 then.

    Hi

started building a fresh new site using 1.3.9h but based on my old site on 1.3.5. Bit by bit im downloading the new addons, and im currently stuck getting this mod to work. Ive got all the files uploaded and everything from within admin appears to be there and working so im sure its down to the rewrite htaccess file.

its says in the instructions that the htaccess file should be uploaded to the /public_html/.htaccess but i already have a .htaccess file for my current live site, if it upload it to the /public_html/shop/catalogue folder then i get a error message. if i add it to /public_html/.htaccess as per instructions i get a blank white page.

im assuming in the current version, the htaccess file no longer goes in the same folder as the main index.php file as in the older versions.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

You can't just put the rule in whatever file you feel like.. it must go in the appropriate file! :)

Copy and paste the rewrite rule given to you in the "Installation Check" into the file that it tells you to place the rule in.

If the shop folder uses a different .htaccess file, remove any Ceon URI Mapping rule you've placed in that (i.e. don't have the rule in two htaccess files).

As for the blank page.. the .htaccess won't have caused that.. that will have most likely been caused by a PHP error, often the result of a missing file, or otherwise often a result of someone not following the upgrade instructions.

Check your cache folder for any debug files which may tell you what you have done wrong to have the blank page come up.

At a guess, you may not have deleted the files from the old version when you upgraded to the new version.. be sure you follow the upgrade instructions to the letter!

If after all of that you are still having trouble then send me FTP and admin details and I'll take a look.

    All the best...

Thanks for the reply, ill look into it again. Its not an upgrade im doing , im designing a whole new website, effectively in a test folder. Once it is all complete, i'll be moving the current live website which is in the root folder and replacing it with the new 1.3.9h site im currently building within /shop/catalogue folder.

In previous uri addons, i was able to have the mod working in two different zencart sites on the same domain name as the htaccess file was added in the main folder that contained the zc files, in my case it was /performance and the second site was in /motorsport

Im sure its something very simple, but for some reason i just cant get my brain to think of an answer

You can still put the rule in a .htaccess file within a subdirectory, you just have to adjust the conditions appropriately.

The software recommends putting the rule at the root of the site as that is how all sites should be built.

It's unprofessional in my opinion to build several sites in subdirectories of a site.

    You should use subdomains instead.

You'll find a lot easier if you do. :)

As I said, I think the problem is you missed uploading some files so, take a break and relax first ( ;) ), then check you have uploaded the files properly, check the cache folder for any error messages, remove the rule from the root .htaccess and place an "appropriate" rule in your subdirectory (or move to using subdomains).

    Hope that helps.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Conor

    Hi Conor

Its all working now, although i havent yet moved the folder to a subdomain, i was able to get this mod to work by using the re-write rule from the old coding. I just couldnt get it to work with the coding the installation checker issued.

Thanks for your advice and for helping me sort this issue out.

The installation checker gives you an example rule for a store that has its own hosting package and that isn't shared between many sites as yours is, so yes, you did indeed have to adjust the rule accordingly. :)

Easily enough done as you've seen.
