I upgraded to version 1.5.3 from version 1.5.1 and everything seemed to go successful but in the admin it says that it is still 1.5.1 and down at the bottom it says that it is 1.5.1/1.5.3
That I miss a step or something.

What exact steps did you take to do your upgrade?
The symptoms you describe suggest that maybe you only did the database upgrade via zc_install but didn't actually upload all the new .php files.
So, it seems the problem is whatever steps you took ....
